Joining

  • Is joining hard?
Not at all! Just go up the upper right-hand corner where you see the word "JOIN" and click! By answering a few questions (we'll let you know which ones are really important), you'll be on your way!
  • Will you share my information with anyone?
Just as we expect our privacy to be respected while visiting web sites, Media-Partners.com absolutely respects the privacy of its customers and visitors. We DO NOT and WILL NOT sell or share personal or private information with anyone or any company. Ever.
  • Why should I join?
To make your experience at Media-Partners.com more convenient and friendly.

We want to recognize and greet you when you return. We want to save you the trouble of filling in all the forms each time you return to order a product, by filling them in for you. Once you register, a cookie will be sent to your computer. Its only function is to recognize your username when you make a return visit, providing you with a more pleasant browsing experience.

In addition, one of the greatest and most unique conveniences we offer to our members is the ability to view full previews online via our flash player. This option eliminates the wait time for a DVD or VHS preview tape. Of course, if you prefer video tape in hand, we are always more than happy to send previews to you.

Previewing

  • How long can I keep the preview?
14 days... give or take. We're not going to hunt your down or anything, but we'd really appreciate it if you sent it back to us so another trainer has a chance to view it.
  • Do I have to pay to ship the preview back to you?
Yes, via a trackable shipment (like UPS, Fedex, DHL, or Priority USPS).
  • What is the difference between a preview and a rental?
A preview is a free evaluation copy of a training program sent out by us to assist you in in your decision-making process . You're welcome to keep it for 14 days, but it is not a training tool.
A rental is a purchase copy of a program whose license can be purchased for an agreed amount of time at an agreed price for your training purposes.
  • Can I train with my preview copy?
No. And if you forget, we've added a reminder or two throughout the preview copies of our training programs.
  • Is the preview the full-length version of the film or just a trailer?
Most previews are full-length versions of the films.
  • Can I preview the support materials? Do they come with my preview film?
All Media Partners titles have support materials available to preview upon request.
  • Do all previews come in DVD format?
Unfortunately, no. You can see which videos do come in DVD format by going to the product page of the video you're interested in and looking at the green box in the lower right hand corner.
  • How do I preview films online?
Please confirm that you have Flash Player installed on your computer (available from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/). You may have to restart your browser and reconnect to our site after you have installed the Flash Player, but once you're at our site, choose the preview that you'd like to watch and simply click on Play button in the middle of the movie screen.
  • Why isn't the online preview working for me?
We're sorry to hear you've been having difficulties viewing our online media stream. Here are some suggestions that may help you:

Make sure that you have "cookies" turned on within your web browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, Netscape, etc.). as this is needed for our site to work correctly.

Update to the latest version of the Flash player. Visit the Adobe Flash Player version test page to check what version of Flash is currently being used by your browser. (http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/) This page also shows the latest version of the Flash Player available for your system, which can be downloaded from the Flash download center.

Please ensure that if you have a firewall at your organization, it is configured to allow streaming video. A firewall can make it difficult to receive video streams over the Internet. Although most firewalls now are "intelligent" and have the ability to recognize that you have requested a legitimate video and/or audio stream, you may still have to contact your IT department or network administrator to confirm this.

Check your Internet connection speed. If it is a dial-up or anything slower than a DSL or cable-modem, you may not be able to view the stream properly. Finally, please close any other programs on your computer when you are viewing the preview stream. You want all available RAM and computer resources free to be able to have the best possible viewing experience. It sometimes helps to do a “restart” on your computer to clear out the memory and get your best performance. If you are still unable to view the video stream after making these adjustments, please let us know so we can ship you a videocassette to preview the program.

  • I am unable to stream Flash content and I keep getting the spinning symbols when I click on the preview play button.

If you are having difficulties accessing the Flash preview streams, your company may have implemented strict firewall rules and/or you may be accessing the internet using a proxy server. Both of these will have a negative impact on watching Flash video programs. If your IT department has no objection, please visit the following URL which will attempt to determine which protocol, and/or ports are accessible from your network by your Flash player. http://www.flashcomguru.com/apps/port_test/index.cfm

  • If I receive a VHS or DVD reel that contains several films for preview, are they priced individually?
Yes, unless you want more than one. If that's the case, be sure to call one of our sales associates to see if you qualify for a multiple copy discount.

Rentals

  • What is the amount of time I can have the rental in my possession and does that include shipping time?
5 days upon receipt. We suggest you return it UPS 2- or 3-day at the end of your 5 days.
  • If I like the film, can I apply my rental fees towards a purchase? If so, do I keep the rental or do I receive a new copy?
Yes. We prefer to have the rental returned and a new copy sent out. Typically there are additional ancillaries that are included in purchase packages that are not in the rental packages.
