Conflict Clock is designed to help your employees, leaders and teams respond to workplace conflicts successfully. Conflict with another person can create stress – the kind of stress that can lead to a response that makes the problem worse, rather than better. Our bodies naturally gravitate toward a Fight, a Flight, or a Freeze response when we feel threatened or upset. These responses are generally not helpful.
Visual learners will appreciate the Conflict Clock, a representation of the circular pattern that often emerges when there is a conflict. The conflict first presents at 12:00. Our initial response to this stressor or conflict happens at 3:00. The other person responds at 6:00, and we respond again at 9:00.
When we respond poorly at 3:00, this prompts the other person to respond poorly at 6:00, and so on. We experience a circular problem…one where despite our poor results, we use the same failed response pattern again and again.
Conflict Clock presents four key conflict management strategies that are easy to remember, because, like our clock, they are all about T.I.M.E.:
We know that your organization has its unique personality, culture, needs and issues. Conflict Clock: Taking T.I.M.E. to Resolve Conflict in the Workplace was designed with that in mind. We have provided three different agendas for general workshops, a special hour-long session specifically geared toward those who supervise or manage others, and supplemental material in the Facilitator Resources that will make it easy for you to customize the training to your organization’s needs.
The Conflict Clock Package includes:
Resolving Conflict Is... can be used alone as an energetic meeting opener or as a complement to any conflict management in the workplace training. This video is ideal for trainers and meeting facilitators seeking alternative ways to inspire and motivate their audience on effective ways to manage conflict at work.
