Lessons From Ground Zero: 2 Part Training Documentary

Emergency action teams must recognize the importance of their work. Guide them in creating and refining your site-specific plan and help all employees grasp why implementing such a plan is so vital. Lessons From Ground Zero: 2 Part Training Documentary features both Lessons from Ground Zero: Emergency Action Plan and Lessons From Ground Zero: Evacuation to help your staff be safe in the event of catastrophe.

Lessons From Ground Zero: Emergency Action Plan (28 Minutes)

This program is the first entry into the Lessons From Ground Zero: 2 Part Training Documentary and introduces some of the experts who protected the rescuers during the WTC evacuations, both on February 26, 1993 and again on September 11, 2001. Your employees will go behind the scenes of these tragic events to learn from real-life experiences to protect your facility in the event of such disasters. By planning for the unthinkable and creating the best possible evacuation plan you can ensure safety in the face of tragedy. This training discusses:

  • Controlling the chaos created by any emergency event
  • Maintaining safe practices during emergency response
  • Providing emergency teams with blueprints for each of your facilities
  • Dealing with dangers posed by onsite hazardous materials and biohazards
  • Dealing with hazards of working on/through piles of debris
  • Protecting against respiratory hazards
  • Proper use of personal protective equipment
  • Decontamination of personnel and equipment

Lessons From Ground Zero: Evacuation (23 Minutes)

In the second part of Lessons From Ground Zero: 2 Part Training Documentary, your employees will listen to gripping first-hand accounts of those who experienced the World Trade Center evacuations on February 26, 1993 and September 11, 2001. Learn how critical security changes after the 1993 bombing expedited the 9/11 evacuation, and allowed more than 18,000 people to evacuate in less than two hours -- four hours faster than in 1993. Knowledge can mean the difference for you, your employees and facility. This training will help employees understand:

  • Importance of evacuation plans and fire drills
  • Proper use of fire extinguishers
  • Necessity of working radios, operational flashlights, fully stocked first aid kits and accurate building maps
